Optics tissue-therapy company NuVision Biotherapies has named Tim Precious as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 26th May 2026. The appointment marks a significant milestone as NuVision accelerates its transition from an R&D-led business to a commercially-focused organisation, expanding across the UK, Middle East, Nordics, and central Europe.
Tim joins NuVision with a remit to lead the execution of its commercial strategy, working closely with the executive team and newly expanded sales function to optimise go-to-market activity across private, public, and international healthcare sectors.
Tim brings extensive senior leadership experience in the optical and ophthalmic space, having spent the majority of his career at EssilorLuxottica in a series of progressively senior roles across the UK/Ireland, Nordics, and Benelux. Most recently serving as General Manager UK/Ireland, Tim has led businesses ranging from £35m to £250m in turnover and teams of up to 450 people, navigating complex post-acquisition transformation whilst driving commercial growth.
Discussing his appointment, Tim Precious said: “Having spent my career in the optical and ophthalmic sector, I know first-hand the difference that innovative products can make for patients and clinicians alike. The business has done the hard work of building something genuinely differentiated, and I’m looking forward to translating that clinical excellence into further commercial success.”
Roger Teasdale, Chairman at NuVision, commented: “Tim’s appointment is a significant moment for NuVision. As we move from an R&D focus to commercialisation, we need a leader who has operated at scale across the markets we are targeting. Tim’s track record speaks for itself. His breadth of experience and enduring focus on customers and teams makes him ideally placed to lead NuVision through its next chapter of growth.”
Tim’s appointment follows that of Joanna Underhill as Non-Executive Director, announced earlier this month. Together, the two appointments bring commercial leadership to NuVision at a pivotal moment in its growth. Their complementary backgrounds offer strategic coverage across key markets with Jo bringing extensive experience in the Middle East, while Tim provides deep expertise across the UK&I and continental Europe.

About NuVision Biotherapies
Located in Nottingham, NuVision Biotherapies is a tissue-therapy company that is based on 15 years of translational research at the University of Nottingham. The business was founded in 2015 with investment from Mercia Fund Management.
NuVision develops and provides a selection of products that pioneer therapies in ophthalmology. The Tereo Process is an established, dual patented manufacturing process that enables the scalable production of amniotic membrane processing.
Omnigen is NuVision’s ocular-specific Tereo processed amniotic membrane product, originating from the innermost layer of the placental sac that protects the foetus during pregnancy. Omnigen is processed using Tereo, therefore the product retains its natural tissue quality to preserve its barrier function and structural integrity. Omnigen can be directly applied to the ocular surface and therefore no preparation time is required prior to use. Omnigen is currently available in 140 UK hospitals, 30 UK private hospitals and seven countries.
NuVision also provides OmniLenz, a specialised bandage for the in-office application of Omnigen in a four to six minute procedure. The product is currently available in three sizes, allowing healthcare professionals to make a clinical decision on the version of the treatment they offer. The combination of Omnigen and OmniLenz accounts for approximately ~80% of all unit sales.
