NuVision Biotherapies is an exciting and growing company in the field of regenerative medicine spun out from the University of Nottingham. NuVision’s ground-breaking platform technology is Omnigen, a dehydrated human amniotic membrane-derived regenerative therapy that can be used to treat numerous ophthalmology indications including chemical burns, persistent epithelial defects and dry eye. As well as being used as a substrate in alternative soft tissue damage indications. Building on this theme, NuVision’s latest innovation is OmniLenz, a revolutionary bespoke contact lens that allows Omnigen regeneration to be delivered in the clinic without the need of surgery or sutures.

About this role

NuVision is looking to recruit an exceptional and committed clinical project associate to provide oversite to our ongoing clinical and new product testing programmes. The successful applicant will join a small clinical team and will take responsibility for managing existing clinical studies as well as help to develop new research streams. This position would suit a person who has significant experience as a clinical trial coordinator/associate, along with a track record of successful project management in clinical or academic research. Previous experience applying and handling grant applications would be beneficial for the role. You will be required to demonstrate competencies in project planning, project execution, financial management, risk management, relationship management and grant writing/support. Personal drive, commitment, organisational and business skills are key qualities required to deliver outstanding results within this rapidly growing area. Experience with a cell or tissue company is highly desirable; previous experience working within the University of Nottingham also an advantage.

  • Lead monitoring meetings
  • Preparation of monitoring reports
  • Engage with outside agencies, collaborators and clinicians
  • Grant writing and submission
  • Research planning and implementation of ideas
  • Oversee product development and testing

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and management of new and existing clinical research projects
  • Ensure all key milestones, budgets and resources assigned to specific tasks and outcomes are met
  • Develop and maintain a formal project plan
  • Tracking and preparing study-specific documentation to support key projects
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Provide verbal and written communication with study personnel, contractors and clinicians
  • Oversee study management and coordinate study monitoring with project sponsors and clinical leads
  • Manage resources and tasks to ensure all logistics and materials are provided
  • Assist and support in new project proposals and grant applications
  • Perform wider R&D activities including processing and analysing results

Qualifications and competencies

  • Educated to minimum degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Proven substantial project management experience preferably in healthcare and clinical research
  • Previous experience applying for research grants
  • Proficient understanding of clinical trial management, monitoring and protocol design
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm
  • Ability to prioritise workloads with attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a matrix environment and value the importance of teamwork
  • Work closely with other colleagues to enable and drive activities jointly to successfully develop and grow the business
